Communities of (Durham (West) | Toronto (East), ON, Canada) 

       

Established (April 2014) as a low cost weekly "Community Band Development Camp of Applied Instrumental Music Instruction"  

for anyone with a desire to learn a musical instrument 

in a welcoming group environment.

Today, our ensemble continues to evolve as an inter-generational / age-friendly " Community Arts Music Program" aiming to decipher the

Musics of the past -- into this 21st Century.

 

There are 3 levels of ensemble; Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced ...

where half the Band rehearses in "Sectionals"; the rest with entire Band.

 

Invested, Involved & Inspired Classes 

 

A professionally organized enhanced music program,

compiled from the "Significant Music®™ Opus Library"

 designed to accommodate music enthusiasts --

from: absolute beginners (no experience necessary); 

to: individuals who want to re-connect with musical skills

not used in years.

 

Today's participantes are valued members of a vibrant

"Durham West Music Association" (DWMA) community -- developing a music curriculum designed to: "Challenge & Enlighten"

 via age-friendly music-making as a life-long activitiy.

 

"All you need to do is try!"  

 

More experienced players, [seasoned Wind, Brass, Percussion players -- 

including Rehearsal Keyboardists] are welcome to advance their skills 

and encouraged to participate in Leadership Roles via 

"RISE TO CHALLENGE: Section Leaders' Program" -- 

with possible small Ensemble, or 

Advanced local Community Concert Band opportunities.
